Sharpened Scissors
In sewing, scissors are one of the most important essentials to complete every overall job. i hadnt done it in a while but a few days ago, I sharpened mine and instantly they worked so much better. This made me think of us as individuals and how relate-able this is. We all start out freshly minted and learn and we grow but seemingly as we encounter life we often times become jagged and we forget to "sharpen ourselves". If not forgetting, then just not doing it as much as we should or fully endulging in it. We could sharpen ourselves in so many ways. In travel, in reading, in loving, in thinking, in speaking, in physical fitness, in our presence, in our faith, in our relationships, in our work.... in continuous learning. But we dont always do that. In turn, we are not our best selves. Flawless are we all but a life's list of accomplishments, both personal and professional we all are not. We all know the cliche sayings "time flies" or "you look up and years have gone by". Well, if you havent realized it by now...please know that it is very true. And throughout those years we shelf those things that would sharpen us for "i have time" or "ill do it tomorrow". The time is now. We even unconsciously trick ourselves to think "it wont happen over night". Well, if today you are better than yesterday...isn't that considered overnight? I know first hand this is much easier said than done, but it is not optional and takes discipline and true commitment. WE MUST BE OUR BEST SELVES. Continuously learn, continuoulsy do, continuously experience, continuously grow. This doesnt mean we wont encounter a smack in the face by life every once in a while, but we'll be better equipped to handle it as well as other uncertanties when we do. Be your best self....sharpen your scissors. L- Embellished
