Spirit

Once upon a time there was a girl who had four boyfriends.
She loved the fourth boyfriend the most and adorned him with rich robes and treated him to the finest of delicacies.. She gave him nothing but the best.

She also loved the third boyfriend very much and was always showing him off to neighboring kingdoms. However, she feared that one day he would leave her for another.

She also loved her second boyfriend. He was her confidant and was always kind, considerate and patient with her. Whenever this girl faced a problem, she could confide in him, and he would help her get through the difficult times.

The girl's first boyfriend was a very loyal partner and had made great contributions in maintaining her wealth and kingdom. However, she did not love the first boyfriend. Although he loved her deeply, she hardly took notice of him!

One day, the girl fell ill and she knew her time was short. She thought of her luxurious life and wondered, 'I now have four boyfriends with me, but when I die, will I be a alone.'
Thus, she asked the fourth boyfriend, 'I loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company? 'No way!', replied the fourth boyfriend, and he walked away without another word.
His answer cut like a sharp knife right into her heart.

The sad girl then asked the third boyfriend, 'I loved you all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?' 'No!', replied the third boyfriend. 'Life is too good! When you die, I'm going to marry someone else!' Her heart sank and turned cold .
She then asked the second boyfriend, 'I have always turned to you for help and you've always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?'
'I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!', replied the second boyfriend. 'At the very most, I can only walk with you to your grave.' His answer struck her like a bolt of lightning, and the girl was devastated.

Then a voice called out: 'I'll go with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go.' The girl looked up, and there was her first boyfriend. He was very skinny as he suffered from malnutrition and neglect. Greatly grieved, the girl said, 'I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!'

In truth, you have four boyfriends in your lives:
Your fourth boyfriend is your body. No matter how much time and effort you lavish in making it look good, it will leave you when you die.
Your third boyfriend is your possessions, status and wealth. When you die, it will all go to others.
Your second boyfriend is your family and friends. No matter how much they have been there for you, the furthest they can stay by you is up to the grave..
And your first boyfriend is your spirit. Often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power and pleasures of the world.

However, your spirit is the only thing that will follow you where ever you go. Cultivate, strengthen and cherish it now, for it is the only part of you that will follow you to the throne of God and continue with you throughout Eternity.

Thought for the day: Remember, when the world pushes you to your knees, you're in the perfect position to pray.

Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect. It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections.

Keep Focused

Havent wrote in a while....just been on the grind! It's hard to write and keep up with the blog and other outlets when im cutting and sewing and doing all the leg work. I realize though, that it takes that and soo much more to maintain a stable company and expand. As Embellished continues to grow and all the things that God has in store for me continues to boil...I just have to keep focused!

Blessed in so many more ways than one!

How A Millionaire's Brain Works....

A man walked into a bank in New York City one day and asked for the loan officer.
He told the loan officer that he was going to Philippines on business for two weeks and needed to borrow $5,000. The bank officer told him that the bank would need some form of security for the loan.
Then the man handed over the keys to a new Ferrari parked on the street in front of the bank. He produced the title and everything checked out The loan officer agreed to accept the car as collateral for the loan. The bank’s president and its officers all enjoyed a good laugh at the guy for using a $250,000 Ferrari as collateral against a $5,000 loan.
An employee of the bank then drove the Ferrari into the bank’s underground garage and parked it there. Two weeks later, the guy returned, repaid the $5,000 and the interest, which came to $15.41.
The loan officer said, “Sir, we are very happy to have had and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multi millionaire. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow “$5,000″.
The millionaire replied: “Where else in New York City can I park my car for $15.41 and expect it to be there when I return”
Well thats how the rich stay rich, they know a lot more about Money Management. All the millionaires I have met in my life were penny wise. Look after your cents and the Dollars will look after themselves.

Custom Shirt Updates

Dear Chicago.......

I remember when I was just a kid walking home from school and suddenly had to hide in your bushes to avoid a gun fight. I remember being asleep in my room and suddenly awaken by the sounds of shooting right outside my window. I remember enjoying my family at my grandma's bday party but having to run to the corner and watch my cousin die after he had been shot. At times I couldnt even sit outside on the porch and enjoy you, simply afraid of what could happen and I didnt even live in the hood. I've experienced soo much good yet witnessed soo much bad at your hands. Fights, gangs, guns, drugs, shootouts, people dying, ignorant parents, kids forced to raise themselves...It's all soo dissatisfying but only seems to be worse these days. Speaking to friends and turning on the news all I hear are bad things. More people dying senselessly, and everyone seems to be subjected to it. No one is above it. Bullets dont have names and no one cares to set examples for our youth. One saying that sticks out so vividly "When it gets hot...people start killing" and sadly it rings soo true. When does it change? How does it change? Some thoughts are to send the National Guard but really...I dont think thats the solution. People will only be jailed, angered and less likely to change instead of taught to better themselves, taught to live a better life and respect and have love for each other. Dear Chicago...I'm soo concerned.... Are your streets soo cold that we inturn have to be soo cold to each other??

Anthony Hamilton on my Lunch Break

A couple of weeks ago on my lunch break I got the greatest chance of seeing Anthony Hamilton...in concert! Im used to the scruffy looking Anthony..it fits him! But he was clean, looked quite nice & sounded great as usual!!! He was actually very personable and funny surprisingly as well! I forgot about the hectic day I was having at work and once I returned to my office I was waaayyyy too amped up to do any work!! It was definitely a sweet treat, a nice get away from it all! I could go for more of those. :)
Check out the Video clips below!

Love this song!!!!!

E-MOTION

It's been quite some time since i touched this blog- I've hardly checked for it at all. Its funny how at times in life different things can comfort and provide peace of mind. Suddenly you find yourself not needing that thing at all...wanting it and missing it...but not needing it. You know its good for you but the time and energy it takes to keep the wheels in motion can be somewhat discouraging. But eventually, everything meant to be will be..no matter what. God already has a plan.

in motion..... ELLE
